A container crane has crashed onto a warehouse at Swansea Docks after being hit by a ship.

An inquiry is in progress into how the Eckert Oldendorff, registered in Liberia, came to knock the crane off its rails and send it toppling, a report in the South Wales Evening Post said.

The ship had arrived from Brazil with a cargo of wooden board, said dock spokesman Peter O'Brien. Nobody was injured, as the warehouse and dockside were deserted at the time.
