A man about to be served a warrant by police attacked a sheriff's officer by lifting up his car with a forklift.
Ayr Sheriff Court heard this week that Bernard Rooney, 46, charged at the officer while driving a forklift on February 5, according to the Scottish Daily Record.
The charges allege he also raised the car in the air and pushed it backwards while the stunned officer was trapped inside.
Mr Rooney faces another charge that he recklessly, with criminal disregard for the consequences, drove the forklift to endanger the officer.
He is also accused of acting in a disorderly manner, shouting and swearing, and committing a breach of the peace at the same time as the alleged assault.
