Now just a month out, CeMAT Australia, the nation's largest intralogistics and materials handling show is gearing up to transform Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Center into an interactive hub of education and knowledge between 12 - 14 July.

CeMAT Australia is pleased to announce two international keynote speakers to headline the Knowledge Theatre, in addition to providing an interactive show floor.

Sascha Schmel, Managing Director of VDMA Materials Handling and Intralogistics Association, and Olivier Janin, Secretary General of European Materials Handling Federation (FEM), will lead the Knowledge Theatre line-up by discussing the European innovations shaping the intralogistics industry and how these can be applied to the Asia-Pacific region.

Hailing from Germany, Mr Sascha Schmel will present 'Intralogistics Made in Germany - Facts, Figures and Industrie 4.0.'

Mr Schmel, who studied Industrial and Mechanical Engineering, has worked for VDMA, the largest industrial association in Europe for the engineering industry, for over a decade.

Over that time, he has been the spokesperson for the association's Engineering and Environment department before becoming the spokesperson for the Industrial Trucks Department of the Conveying Engineering and Logistics System Specialist Association in 2008.

French national, Olivier Janin joins him to present to delegates 'The European Materials Handling Industry: trends and prospects.'

Mr Janin holds a Masters in European Business Law and has nearly 15 years of experience in European public affairs. He started his career in the transport and logistics sector before moving to the engineering sector in 2008. Since 2009, he has been the Secretary General of FEM, the European Materials Handling Federation. FEM speaks for 13 national committees, representing more than 1,000 companies employing 160,000 people directly.

The importance of on-going education and insight into European innovation for the sector cannot be underestimated, stresses Ms Sarah Haughey, Show Director of CeMAT.

"The European materials handling industry generates close to €60bn of annual production value, so it goes without saying their insight is invaluable for the Asia-Pacific region.

"Both Mr. Schmel and Mr. Janin are respected seasoned speakers. All who attend their presentations will leave with knowledge that will not only improve their warehousing systems, but also provide them with insights into how technology, safety and policy are evolving across the industry. We invite all members of the industry to attend to ensure they stay ahead of the curve," said Ms. Haughey.

These two main keynotes form part of the extensive Knowledge Theatre program, which has a new structure, this year, to provide greater learning opportunities for attendees. Situated on the show floor industry leaders from a range of markets and sectors, including Dematic, Vanderlande and apex, who will provide insights through case study driven presentations.
