Camso, formerly Camoplast Solideal, has opened a new manufacturing facility in Vietnam to gain a leadership position in the Asian materials handling market.

"This new facility is a commitment to being the best partner for our OEM and aftermarket customers (in) the Asian market, and an investment to grow our leadership position in the materials handling sector," says Jean-François Ferland, vice president and general manager of materials handling at Camso.

The 23,000 sq m facility was built in 14 months and comes equipped with best-in-class manufacturing technology. Located in the Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park in Tan Uyen Town, Binh Duong Province, the new plant will help diversify Camso's manufacturing operations and improve the company's competitiveness. As the world's fifth-largest rubber-producing country, Vietnam offers access to raw materials; competitive, quality labour and a favourable industrial economic environment to conduct Comso's operations.

Camso's new facility in Vietnam completes the manufacturing footprint of the company with facilities in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, Hungary, Italy, South Korea, Sri Lanka and United States.

Camso is a leader in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of off-road tyres, wheels, rubber tracks and undercarriage systems to serve the materials handling, construction, agricultural and powersports industries. It employs more than 7,500 people worldwide.
