CEMAT Asia 2024 is underway

The 2024 CEMAT Asia conference wraps up at the Shanghai International Expo Centre tomorrow with the theme of “Smart Manufacturing leads the future of Intelligent Logistics” on full display.
More than 900 exhibitors had their wares and products on display over some 80,000 sqm with more than 100,000 visitors expected over the four days.
There has been a wide range of forklifts and materials handling equipment introduced and re-introduced to those attending the conference which was first held in 2000.
Daqing Lu, sales manager with battery-maker RoyPow, tells Forkliftaction News the first day of the event was “bustling with activity”.
“Major exhibitors, including Longi and Hangcha, showcased their latest innovations,” Lu adds.
There has also been plenty of promising technological advances and innovations our sector can look forward to discovering and utilising.

Vanderlande will acquire Siemens Logistics
Munich, Germany
Siemens AG will sell its airport logistics business to Toyota Industries Corporation-owned materials handling and logistics automation business, Vanderlande.
In statements, both companies confirm the deal is worth EUR300 million (USD326.97 million) and is expected to close before the end of 2025.
“With this acquisition, Vanderlande is building a firm foundation for sustainable growth within the wider automated logistics market based on the strong and reliable contribution of its airport business,” Vanderlande states.
Siemens Logistic’s chief executive officer Michael Schneider adds: “Our innovative portfolio of high-performance hardware and software along with extensive offerings for smart services will perfectly complement Vanderlande’s portfolio and continue to contribute to automating and digitalising the industry”.
