Biopharmaceutical company Sartorius Stedim Biotech has selected Jungheinrich to automate its new 15,000 sqm logistics facility in Aubagne, France.
Scheduled to open in early 2025, the new logistics facility will include a range of Jungheinrich equipment, including a high bay racking warehouse served by three EKX 516ka automated very narrow aisle forklifts, an automated miniload warehouse and a network of pallet/bin conveyors.
The entire facility will be controlled by Jungheinrich's Warehouse Control System.
Jungheinrich France sales and business development manager of automated systems Sylvia Monteagudo says: “Supplying a production line, particularly in the pharmaceutical industry, is a major challenge to ensure quality, hence the importance of having a reliable, scalable and flexible automated installation."
Sartorius Stedim Biotech France head of logistics projects Valentin Curmi says the new facility would allow the company to reduce order processing times while also increasing its storage capacity.
“Thanks to the automation of our site, we will be able to accelerate our response to growing market demands, increase our competitiveness and offer an even more reliable service to our customers,” Curmi says.
