KANSAS CITY, Mo. - August 4, 2010 -
BEB Industrial Asset Management announces expanded OEM representation within the newest version of its quoting software for material handling equipment - QuoteMaster IQ
®. The company had recently announced the seventh generation of the its popular quoting software, introducing many new features for users. Now, BEB reports that many new manufacturers' equipment lines have been added to the IQ software.
More dealers are able to manage more brandsThe challenging economic environment has caused many MHE dealerships to reevaluate their product mix. "More dealers are now carrying more brands of equipment,' according to Jason Bratton, vice president at BEB, 'and so our quoting software has continued to evolve." As dealers represent more brands, their salespeople still want to use a single quoting software to manage all of those brands.
The QuoteMaster IQ
® system now includes pricing and specifications for 45 different brands of equipment, up from approximately 20 brands only a few years ago. "Adding new OEMs and brands to the software is very easy to do,' notes Bratton, 'it's easy for us to load the information here at BEB, and it's easy for dealer salespeople to use the information."
Much of the information that populates the software comes directly to BEB from the manufacturer, via corporate agreements with major OEMs like Nissan and Clark. Some of the information comes from dealerships via local agreements. In all cases, the configuration and pricing information is incorporated into the software in a consistent manner, thereby allowing the salespeople who use the software to create consistent quotes despite the diversity of the equipment involved.
Software Supports Diverse Brands in Consistent WaysDealerships want consistency, both in the way that quotes are created and in the way that the quoting activity is reported up through the sales management ranks. "Equipment is diverse', notes Bratton, 'Nissan Forklifts are nothing like Cargotec tractors, and Cargotec tractors are nothing like Nilfisk-Advance Sweepers. So the software's output has to represent those differences. At the same time, the process to create quotes and report that quoting activity has to be intuitive and consistent." BEB says they have engineered their software with these goals in mind.
New brands of equipment are entering the American marketplace every day, due to increasing imports from developing nations. As dealers consider adding these new equipment brands, BEB is poised to help. "Our software is brand-agnostic,' says Bratton, 'and I would encourage dealers to call BEB whenever they are considering adding new lines. Chances are, BEB already has that line in our system; and if we don't have that line, it's easy for us to add it."
The BEB IQ software incorporates the equipment's build specification options, along with dealer options, to allow the salesperson to quote the equipment exactly to the customer's specifications. Financing options are integrated too. Behind the scenes, the software allows for adjustment of factory and dealer discounts, thereby creating extensive flexibility for the salesperson. "Selling is tough enough these days," notes Bratton, "Creating a quote should be the easy part."
The software has low monthly subscription-based pricing, allowing any size dealership to take advantage of the tool. For more information, call
