Balyo is partnered with two leading manufacturers of forklifts and other material-handling devices: Hyster-Yale Group and Linde Material Handling. Balyo outfits these standard products with our advanced technology to automate their functions. We partner with the OEMs and local dealers to deliver service to our technology users.

The Balyo US team is a small and tight-knit one. We are unencumbered by titles and org charts; we will do anything to support each other and are looking for a candidate with that same mindset. The Service Technician is a key member of our small team.

Location
We are currently hiring in the following locations: Waukegan, IL. Forth Worth, TX, Browns Summit, NC, and W. Jordan, UT, areas with some travel expected, mainly in the US (with possible international travel), depending on the location of the projects.
Requirements / Skills
Service Technician
In this customer-facing role, your primary responsibility will be to ensure after-sales maintenance operations support for our robots installed at customers' sites within the Americas Region. You will provide hardware technical support to customers, dealer technicians, integrators, and OEM partners. Key duties include:
  • Troubleshoot and repair robotic lift truck equipment as needed, including lasers, sensors, and communication equipment as needed
  • Document action plans and final resolutions for all support services provided
  • Regular maintenance tasks such as lubrication, cleaning, and replacing worn parts
  • Provide on-the-job training (OJT) for users as necessary
  • Perform the robot retrofits and upgrades as necessary
  • Provide support during the installation and ramp-up of projects
  • Test new hardware
  • Log file analysis
  • Conducting routine inspections to identify any potential issues or malfunctions
  • Performing test & quality checks to ensure that equipment and systems are functioning properly
  • Calibrate robotic AGV's to ensure optimal performance

Qualifications
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience with electrical forklifts as a technician (required)
  • Certified Forklift Technician (preferred)
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Associate's Degree Preferred.
  • Good mechanical and electrical aptitudes and knowledge of electrical/electronic systems.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
  • Good written/verbal communication and customer care skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite. (preferred)
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a passport.
  • Ability to safely operate lift trucks.
  • (CFT) Certified Forklift Technician is desired but not required.
  • Fluent in English. Spanish language skills are a plus.

About travels
= 25% of the time: mostly domestic travel, possible international travel required

Salary: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
