yale lift truck transmission fluid check

We have a Yale GP060 likt truck and I am wondering if the transmisssion fluid level is checked running or not. Also have the same question on nissan 90's and nissan 60's. Thank in advance.

Yale and late nissan stopped. Would assume 60s nissan the same
