Truck has no codes acts like its missing but when you pinch injector hoses it slows engine.New coil new wires new plugs. It shows requested 24deg on timing but shows actual at 5 to 15 changing rapidly to fast to keep up with.Operator said back of lift got hot, glowed red.Compression at 185 +- 5 psi.Injectors changed with good running truck.Timing belt checked not jumped.Sprayed with carb cleaner / brakeclean to check for vacuum leak.Any clues? Thanks in advance

Valves beat the seats out of head.Head rebuilt and reinstalled runs like a top.
Truck has 7500 hrs on it.Its in the shop now.Shows 3 on map drops to 1 when started.Swapped ecm and map sensor with known good.No change. check with service tool had 96 kpa So suspect bad display.Going to check head
One of the issues we have had with the 2.4 is the crank gear coming loose the key will get egged out on the crank causing the timing to change. You may want to double check the crank gear.
We have also had some issues with the valves on the 2.4 cylinder heads, you may want to do a leak down test to see if you have a head issue
How many hours on the truck
Its a ohc engine so how do you bleed lifters?no rockers. Will check ground when I go back to work.Noticed timing jumping all over the place then when it settels down it quits missing.
