Discussion:
Yale GLC050VX no drive no hydraulics no codes

It does start.
But no fwd / rev and no hydraulic functions.
No trouble codes showing.
Seat switch should be good.
Does anyone know why?

There's a least four wires to the connector block if not five located directly under the seat canopy. And the hood switch is of the magnetic type two wires in the right hand rear corner, if the switch and magnet were out of alignment the truck would not start. A lesson I learnt with systems like these if there's no code then the system dose not see a problem. It might show you that you have selected a direction but if there's no pressure on the sencers then it dose not see a problem.

I am pretty sure about the only thing that does not throw a code, but keeps it from moving and/or lifting is the 'hood switch' and if it is not installed and missing the jumper in the plug that it would normally be installed in plug of the wire harness. on the right side, under the hood, there should be a 2 wire plug with either a harness plugged into it for a switch that operates with moving the hood up, or a loop of wire in the plug to jumper short the circuit. I would suggest going to look at a known good machine and finding that looped wire plug and confirming that it was on your truck.
Titus is correct that the power steering function is built into the hydraulic control valve, and that if the main pump did not have output there would also be no steering but I am also pretty sure you should still get codes relating to the directional control and/or the hydraulic control circuits/sensors.

the parking brake only inhibits the drive function, shouldnt effect any hydraulic function.

since your not getting any drive or hydraulic function i would do what was suggested and check the seat switch circuit.

This looks like a main hydraulic pump failure. There's no codes because the system has not sensed any operation having been selected, dose the power steering work. From what I recall of these trucks is that the main control valve is part and parcel of the transmission unit and part of the valve block dose the power steering. I think you need to do pressure test on transmission

If it was the seat sensor it would give you a message on the dash either when you select a direction or try to work the hyd's..check the input speed in the trans via the dash.is it making boy strange noise's in the bellhousing area.maybe a sheardd flexplate!!

On the VX's I've worked on, the parking brake does not shut off the transmission, it just must be on so that the starter works.

I know on some Clark's that the parking brake Is tied into the FWD/Rev solenoids by applying the grounding of them when the brake is released so is possible that Yale may do this also.....

Remove the R clips from under the front edge of the seat squab lift the seat squab up and check wiring connector at the rear of the seat squab underneath the backrest you might be able to get to it by access to the rear of the drivers backrest from behind the seat,
The cable is sometimes stretched here and the connector parts this is worth checking out.

Follow the wires that pass through the hood from the seat and you will find a connector as Ed mentioned. From this connector you can use a DVOM and check seat/hood switch itself or jump, skip or hop.

Kitty is all over the board ey? How much "stuff" was piled around under on on top of the seat? Check for some broken or cut wires underneath seat and seat switch.

What i used to do all day now takes me all day to do.
these have a hood switch -or- a jumper in the wire harness.
got jumper?
right side in the frame harness, as the operators sits near the hood hinge.

"it's not rocket surgery"
because when I stand up at the seat, dash shows "seat sensor travel interlock" which is normal, so seat switch should be fine, right?
