YALE ERP30 ALF

Hi all.
Year 2001, serial: B216A02836Y
I've an error message saying "Steering brushes worn" We have checked all brushes, wiring, connectors etc. We have tried changing ALL controllers, without luck. We contacted local dealer with no luck. Any info will be highly apriciated. Is it anyway possible to disable this function.
Best regards, Max

there are other options that "may" be causing this problem so as long as you have eliminated the motor, brushes, wiring associated with the sensors, then the problem could be in either the TMM or the controller itself.

as long as the code is present you are still getting a positive input to the brush wear circuit from somewhere

Max, I can't think of anything further to add, swoop has covered the main points. I would disconnect the motor and check for ground faults, I would also give the motor a good clean out.

I'm assuming you may have had a status code 95, showing on your dash display, which ref to worn brushes and you say you have changed them and the controllers, I can only think that the sensing wires from the P17/18 terminals on the master controller have shorted to a battery positive, it may be worth checking out.

when you checked the brushes how worn were they?
were the sensor wires touching the brush holders?
if the motor had alot of carbon dust in it , clean it out good with electric motor cleaner

the carbon dust can trigger a brush wear indicator too

also may want to check the sensor wires from the motor to the controller and the connector where they connect to the motor for shorts.
