Discussion:
YALE ERP16VF slowdown function

I have a question. Is there the possibility to slowdown the forklift?
I explain better. My customer want that when the forklift is used in a "drive in" warehouse it slowdown for example using an external sensor (infrared or ultrasonic) or simply pressing a botton.

Someone can help me if there is the possibility to find a solution?
The truck is Always YALE ERP16VF

Thanks
Marco

I understand your point of view.
I ask this question because on another forklift (Linde E30 series 336) we have installed simply a NC button on the pin 5 of 1X11 connector.
When you press this button (open the circuit on pin 5 of 1X11 connector) the forklift slowdown at the speed you desire, setted using the Linde software.
The same things we have done on STILL using a programmable output (reserve interrupters).

Do you know if something like that can be implemented on this YALE?

Thanks

the speed of the forklift is controlled by the input from the accelerator pedal.
what you are asking is for it to 'sense' a pre-chosen area via sensor and to slow down truck speed automatically?

This would be an operation outside of the function of the truck capability and is not possible with current technology on any truck that is built in.
You would need an outside device wired into the truck system but again i am not aware of any such device without having to go to a drive 'on wire' type of setup which would be very expensive to install and setup.
