Discussion:
Wrench no motion

Hello,

I have a WAVE 50-84 lift that is giving me some fits. The lift powers on and gives me the wrench but does nothing more. No beeps or flashing warning lights.

The ED relay (Contactor) never closes. If closed manually the lift behaves normally.

Any pointers are appreciated.

Thank you,

Andrew

Showing items 1 - 8 of 8 results.
when truck passes selftest battery display will show current charge.
standing on pedals will flash strobe lights (if fitted)
handsfree will only work if truck passes selftest with functioning led presence sensors
try blowing the led sensors out with compressed air

yeah, im wrong about the hand sensors the switch bypasses them. the flashing lights are in series with the foot switches so if they are not coming on a foot switch might be bad or just as crownie said the ground platform selector switch which feeds b+ to the foot switches

The foot switchs appear to do nothing, tried clossing them at the connector, but will have to look at the continuity to the block terminals.

The hand sensor space is tight. Being IR has anyone tested them with the camera on their phone? I tried this trick (ala pinball and remote controls) but see nothing, making me wonder if they are dead. Also, with the hands free switch down will it still complain if the sensors don't work?
I did find the manual thing in the tube, but it is all block drawings and no real schematic related stuff.

Thanks!

so no code that is good. are the strobe lamps lighting up when on the foot switches? if so may be broke wire or pinched wire behind dash for hand sensors i have done that before.

there might be a diagram in the package canister thing inside the truck, i can't remember....

Thanks everyone for the hints. I appreciate it.

Here is what I found:
1) Connector behind panel was partially unplugged, pushed them together and put a zip tie on it.

When I reconnected this things changed, now I do not get a wrench, I do get the triangle/question mark. Still does not operate.

In addition:
1) Battery voltage is ok.
2) ED Switch on the platform is broken and only stay up, does not lock down like the one on the base does. Currently disabled for testing.

I will check the voltages on the terminal blocks tonight. How does one purchase the actual wiring diagram for one of these? And how many times can they use White/Red stripe?!!? lol

Thanks again guys.

check the battery voltage
as mentioned check all ED and drive/push, platform/base switches are in operating state
check voltage on white wire at left hand terminal board above castor wheel as viewed from operator position, 2nd terminal in from outer edge of machine from memory

check emergency disconnect switches on the platform and ground, also the plug behind the ground controls can come un-plugged sometimes.

Also, tested foot switchs which are working. Not sure how to test the hand sensors, but have the switch in op with no hands mode. Not sure where to look. May need a wiring diagram!

Thanks again!
