Forklift will start 20 times fine, then it won't. We have called repair shop twice and the darn thing starts OK the next day. We feel pretty stupid. It's acting up again. The only thing I just noticed was a symbol on monitor next to SAS that looks like two tires connected by an axle and differential with two vertical arrows pointing to axle. Any suggestions? Thanks

My 7fgu25 has been doing the same thing, have you found the solution?
I have a 7fgcu20 that starts for about 5 min, while running you can hear a ticking from gas regulator valve then suddenly the ticking goes away and forklift shuts off

Having almost the same issues. My issue is with 8FGCU25 model. But months back the lift just died and would only start after it cooled down. Shortly after it just wouldn't start. So I changed the regulator, and the solenoid and the fuel filter assembly (not new parts as I used the parts from a downed lift soon to be scrapped. After changing parts I got almost 40 hours out of it before it stopped running again. Lift will start with starter fluid! Checked the regulator which is good to my knowledge after testing it with the big hose off and not getting any pressure when cranking. I did check to see if I was getting power to the solenoid which it wasn't so I am going to check the relay
(Signal Generator) that was mentioned above.
on this unit, Toyota Forklift Model 7FGU30, the unit wont start, it wont crack
starter is ok
Battery voltage 13.5
starter relay ok
no open wires on wire hardness, I do suspect on the control module under the battery, i believe is the igniter but i am not sure....have you had this problem before?
Thanks for all the help. Forklift never acted up very long until recently. When the lift finally quit I traced problem to 12 volt at LP regulator but no fuel output. I called the company back and he replaced the regulator and it has worked good. Thanks again
Yeah, i have had that problem before and mentioned that earlier to tunaguy but haven't heard back , Rich
I had this problem last week and forgot to reply back to tunaguy. I replaced the propane lock-off and the pressure solenoid. The unit is working great ( no complaints from the customer ) I suspect that the heat from the Propane converter is causing the lock-off to stick or malfunction. I also found oily residue in the pressure solenoid hole.
did anyone ever hear back on this one?
ok u say it starts 20 times in a row and then wont I need more info the time it don't does it try to start is it cranking? If it's the 4Y the wire breaks are common but not with these symptoms it sounds like it could be as simple as a starter on the way out. Also check for voltage drops across both Neg and Pos from bat down to bat also next time it don't start try wrapping the starter. Large volt drops across either Neg or pos will cause starter to fail premature. If still won't start shut gas off? Drain LPG from line. So system is dry. Remove the two 10mm bolts over the carb. That connects the hose from the air flt. Get a mechanics rag wet a little with gas and see if Ur engine will fire that will tell me if its Ur engine or a fuel problem real ez test also may want to run ur engine and with the hood up u may want to pull the drain plug that's a 12mm pain to get to if it's ur first time pulling because u need to do it hot pull the over fill reservoir out for more room don't drop the brass washer and don't over tighten not strong medal and when it don't start is it first thing or is it after it has been running a wail

Did you check the connections at the Distributor and fuse Panel ????
Is the solenoid actually opening? you have to make sure there is propane going in. then check solenoid. you can even put your hand on the solenoid and turn the key over. you should feel it clicking. There is also a relay in that circuit which recieves it's signal from the distributor it is called a signal generator. Sorry back to the solenoid I have had them fail but only at places where the engine gets very hot. You could even try to remove the solenoid and clean it up. Make sure there is no propane in the system before you take it apart. Did you also check for spark I doubt that would be a problem but you neverknow Let me know how it goes Rich ([email address removed])
Thanks for all your help. The lift has been working fine until tonight when I really need it for tomorrow. Now it won't start at all. It has 11 volt to LP regulator solenoid and fuel tank is full but there is no fuel output to carb. Bad LP regulator ?
I have run in to this before and it ended up being the lp regulator was full of oi. If it is an Asian system I would start there.
