We have moved little forklifts over the years with a trailer. A C20B doesn't weigh over 5500 pounds. You need a steel deck trailer with 4 load range D tires. The trailer we use can tilt back, like a roll back truck would. It can handle 7500 lbs. It also has brakes and has heavy duty anchors to hook the chains to. Chain down all 4 corners and put a strap or two through the floor plate area. A one ton diesel pick up will pull it.
theres companies you can hire but that wont be cheap im sure
thats a smaller machine i believe
but you have to figure its gonna be somewhere in the 5-7000 lb range
though it could be more, not sure though
that kinda weight on wheels you better get that thing super strapped down, any shifting of weight while your driving could be disastrous (and ive seen it happen)
knowing what roads youll probably end up taking back (LIE to the whitestone or throggs neck to 95
the 1st 15 miles is where youll most likely hit major traffic and its not exactly a straight shot highway to highway with a commercial vehicle or a trailer in tow (like to pick up the van wyck from the LIE you have to get off college pt blvd and take side streets)
you could take the BQE north to the triborough (now called the Robert F Kennedy bridge, i like the name triborough better lol)
to the bruckner exp to 95 BUT that way has very narrow lanes, not much shoulder, concrete walls close to lanes and VERY sharp turns (not exactly the way you want to trailer something)
well however you do it
be very careful and good luck
i have 4 chain-binders,a couple of heavy ratchet straps and was going to bolt down the wheel chocks and drive like a grandmother.Still curious what the weight of a C20b though.
Thanks for the advice on transport,I cant find anyone who will flatbed it to Providence anyway.

it should be flat bedded not trailered
you need to really chain it down good
ive seen them fall off flatbeds with chains
i couldnt imagine a short stop and its held down with cargo straps
OUCH
lol
