I agree with AndyPandy and Daryl, I am not a service tech, but have some forklift knowledge and a good bit of this argument is as said, getting the driver onside.
I reckon that if you are looking at the red hydrostatics, they are well equiped (e.g. full suspension seats), stable and quiet to sit in for a shift so the drivers will say they prefer them to a lot of the competition, especially the little known stuff coming in from the far east nowadays.
Why just the two,what about the still drive system of electric motor drive, power and control but even they have limitations it is all down to application and also if you can get the driver onside if he is not happy. no matter what you give him it will be rubbish and never as good as his last truck even if that was a sack cart.!!!
It is not a case of which is better, they are different and should not be compared. The better one is the one correctly matched to the application, with a view to lifetime costs and ease of use. Both will be available for the foreseeable future.
