Discussion:
warning light

I am having an issue with two BT RRE160 trucks equipped with warning lights that do not function. Options turned on in parameters. Only have battery neg voltage to light. I have not traced out the positive side with a meter as of this moment. All connections appear to be okay with no visible breaks in wires. Trucks are equipped with shock watches. These are newer trucks and these have not worked since shipped from factory. Any help would be appreciated.

Your well covered for the RRE then.

Hopefully you will have version 010 or even 012 installed.

Version 010 is very stable & greatly improves the reach function & control, version 012 adds improvements for OTP / safety plus option.

P5 is the flashing lamp.

You got the manual for the RRE?

Is your Truck Com lead USB?

What software package these RRE's running?

260038 - ****, What's the **** number?

Version 010 or 012 is what you want to be running.

Those parameter settings are fine.

Wire number 98 in connector X131 position 36 in the plug is the warning lamp output from the A5 MCU under the floor with the pedals on.

The warning lamp is P5 - you had the plastic roof panel down & checked its been connected to the right socket in the roof?

From on top of the roof using a 4mm allen key & torx 20 screwdriver, first remove the silver panel on the left ( 2 allen key bolts ) then undo the torx 20 screws while you support the plastic roof panel, the plastic panel will drop down & allow you to get at the connectors, the connectors will be numbered.

Also what software package is it running?

260038 - ****, whats the **** part of the package number?

Are you sure the lamp isnt working, depending how it was set it can stay OFF until the hydraulic functions or traction is in action, if the truck is just stood still the lamp doesnt flash.

Ive been called out to a RRE for this very fault, customer felt embarrassed when he released.

Factory parameter 1112 needs to be switched on for the warning light & you can only do this parameter with BT Truck Com software.

Parameter 106 sets the flashing frequency

Parameter 115 sets when the lamp will flash

Parameter 106 & 115 you can change with a BT can key.

What hydraulic functions does the truck have, I need to know so I can tell you what the parameter should be set to.

Lift, reach, tilt - has it got sideshift? 5th hydraulic function?

You got a serial number for either truck?
