Raymond EASI R45TT:
Very Very slow travel in both directions

I had what I thought was a simple job on our EASI R45TT forklift. the forklift got wet from a broken water line which didn't effect the machine electrically at first. over time the water corroded the bottom bearing and needed to be replaced. I pulled the AC motor and noticed the bottom bearing had a encoder. I cleaned up the old bearing and re greased temporally and reinstalled the motor. but it didn't work. machine moved very slowly in both direction and kicks out on over load. so i ordered the new bearing and reinstalled but machine is still the same. She just inches along in both direction. even after I neutral the handle she still tries to move. scratching my head here.

Turned out that my problem was actually the encoder bearing. I had a aftermarket bearing and it wasn't the correct bearing. Got the proper bearing and machine is back in service.

Hey thanks for your reply. hope your safe from this covid-19. I have done more testing on the machine and I have determined that the motor itself is the issue. Not sure how familiar you are with these machines but before I took the motor apart to replace the encoder bearing the motor worked fine. Is there anything that I could have done wrong putting it together? It an AC motor and its the first one i have taken apart. it seems simple enough. Just a note the encoder bearing is also good.
thanks
Scott

Does you forklift display any codes?... If not, check you limit switch.
