Hello all,

I've been trying to get the answer to this all day but to no avail.

I'm trying to adjust the speed of our Toyota Reach Truck 6BRU18

How do I adjust the speed?

Very helpful.

Just received a new-to-us Toyota 9BRU18. Found this older thread. About to crack into it following your instructions. Anticipating programs and wondering if there are any default passwords used when attempting this? If I find additional info, I'll happily contribute.

Safety is no accident.
I do not believe speed control came about until the 5 series trucks. They may have had some power control features but not speed limiting.

@ErichO Hello again. Are you by chance familiar with the older Toyota model 2FBCA25? It's an older 2 ton electric forklift. However, it doesn't have the power select /hour glass /arrows panel. Perhaps those panels /display were manufactured after?

My facility just received one as a gift and am curious if this older model also has an adjustable speed setting. Any help in the right direction is appreciated. Hope all is well.

hi. you have to go into tuning mode:

Tuning mode is used to change settings. Both
primary and secondary passwords are required
to enter Tuning mode.
Entering the Secondary Password
Enter the primary password.
Within 10 seconds, press the hour meter
select switch (system should respond with a
short beep).
Within 10 seconds, press the hour meter
select switch and the power control select
switch simultaneously (system should
respond with a short beep).
'Tuning" will appear on the display indicating
acceptance of the secondary password.

then you have to select the tuning code "C4" for maximum speed limiter: The factory default will show as the highest setting (1-8)
segments on. Moving down from the "8" will change the
maximum travel speed by 0.5 mph per character.

let me know if this helps.
