yeah i had to deal with a yale/schaeff truck that had dual curtis motor controllers in it one time. Went through the same thing when i had to replace one.
the master is setup as '0' and the slave is set as '1' i believe.

just hook up the handset and verify what the settings are at
then make changes if they are not correct.

Hi Swoop, this is one thing we was unsure about and are going to look at this on Monday when we get back to the truck.

When you replace a dual controller system controller usually they make the right controller the master and the left the slave.
Did you copy the settings from the left controller and then write them to the new one using the handset?
You would still have to go in and set that one to a slave i'm pretty sure.

Hi Guys, sorry, have more info, Translift Bendi, yom 2008, model BE4208 2ss, Serial number TL7658. It has rear drive motors located under a side removal type battery, the truck has 2 Curtis controllers (type 1244) located to the right side front of the driver compartment and 1 main Curtis unit controlling steering etc, theres is 1 main contactor, 2 traction controller contactors and a hydraulic contactor all located in this compartment area too. weve managed to resolve most issues but the last one fault were stuck with is on the left motor controller which is flashing 1,3. we know its field open fault and the symptoms are that the contactor drops out when we press the accelerator pedal. weve fitted a new drive motor as it was kaput and also new controller. any info wold be a great help. thanks.

First thing you need to establish is which brand of Bendi you have, either a Translift or Landoll built truck. Based on your location, I will assume it is a Translift. Is your truck a rear drive or front drive?

As has already been stated, more information on your truck is needed to get you the correct information.

serial number might be helpful
also what series is this unit?
they changed the control system on these trucks between the series III and series IV, they are 2 totally different worlds apart

you would need to include a serial number to be able to get ANY help, AND your local Bendi dealer is the only correct place to acquire manuals.
