I have purchased this sensor and cannot locate it on the 4.3 GM engine. It is NOT on the timing chain cover. Any help appreciated!! Thanks

if your trying to measure that signal with a volt meter you probably wont get a definitive reading. It pulses so fast your meter probably doesnt pick it up.
You'll need the diagnostic software to monitor whats going on in the ignition system, it has a graph readout along with digital readings that show that.
Of course there could also be a problem with the pickup sensor on the reluctor wheel.

Hmmmm..
I am getting a very low voltage out of the purple/orange wire when spinning over (CMP -), but nothing at the grey/ brown (CMP+) wire.
Problem is no/ weak ignition fire and I am thinking the CMP- wire should pulse. Any ideas??
check inside the distributor cap ;o)
