This unit has a reoccurring problem with a code c3. Happened last year 3 times. A competitor fixed the truck and all has been well for about 6 months. It is now back. Any ideas of what the code refers to?
Thank you in advance for any assistance.

This truck has had no more issues. Hope this helps someone.
Traveled to customer and raised the truck up. Turn drive unit left the power up. It auto centered. Same for right. Some motion in bearing also seemed dry. Lubed while cycling unit. Proximity switch light would flicker while shaking drive unit. Didn't after lubing the lower ring. Lower back to floor and lower the adjustment on proximity switch. Test and let customer use while picking up and paperwork was filled out. No problem. Have not been on a callback to said unit.
Thank you for the information. I will alert if it fails in a week or so.
with the symptom you have there is a high possibility your steering encoder has failed. if it fails the truck can still pass selftest. it is also much cheaper than the steer card, there is a test for it - run test 41-1
Lift runs as normal until the steering is called for then it codes out to c3. Is there a way to check the sterring card?
I have seen the steer motor loosen up and create some codes. I know there are some steer card issues also.
c3 is no input from steer encoder or steer home proxy. if the steer motor has open circuit or is not turning the drive unit this can happen too. is it still intermittant? if so how do you get it to code out?
