I recently had a nissan electric truck with a similar problem, it had a steer contactor which would not energise and was comming up on the dash as steer fault. What I found was an earth fault in the steer motor had caused the system to shut down the steer contactor. We disconnected the motor which then energised the contactor, cleaned the motor out and put it back together and seemed to work fine. Its worth a shot checking out the steer motor to begin with.
i would check steering motor, maybe your brushes is worn or your armature could be dirty. i'm not to sure on your model, but our machines has steering contactor. could be that your tips are giving you a problem.
The fault code is related to the power steer circuit. Could be just a bad connection in the wiring of the power steer controller as its intermittant.
Sorry, I made a mistake, the correct model is 5FBL15
S/N: 5FBL18-10757.

Check under battery. There should be two silver coloured electrical components side by side. Can't remember proper term for them check connectors first then check components. Let me know how it goes. Rich
