THIS IS THE FOURTH RETRO FIT WITH THIS ZAPI SYSTEM SO FAR SO GOOD UNTIL TODAY..... FITTING INTO MAGAZINERS / SWITCH ON WHEEL CENTERS...STEER MOTOR STARTS OSSILATING THEN ALARM..STEER SENSOR KO.... LOOKS LIKE A FAULTY EPS ??????
ok damo. system i know is on hyster vna trucks. i think they have used it for 7 or 8 years. feedback pot on them tells controller when steer wheel is straight and compares it to signal picked up from wire via the aerials. if pot is not set right it the controller fights to keep truck straight and jumps off line. i recon your proximity switch must work the same.
hi there kevin
in this system there isnt a pot used.....
instead theres a band on the drive motor
and the pot is replaced with a proximity switch
zapi wire guidance is very reliable and accurate when set up correctly. usually let down by feedback pot misalignment and damage to aerials. nothing major.
