Discussion:
Hybrid Rough Terrain Construction Forklifts?

I'd like a typical construction forklift that can run quietly for one or two hours per day while running normally for the remainder of the day eg A hybrid that can run on electric for first hour, then diesel for 8 hours.
Are there any?

There are some very quiet diesel engines around. People like direct injection engines but they shake rattle & roll. Actual running time of a forklift whether it be an industrial lift or construction machine average 3 to 4 hours running time/per 8 hour work shift. You may want to investigate a noise abatement system for the engine compartment if morning noise level is is an issue.
Best bet is to contact your local machine companies and see who offers such and option. As a recall VW diesel engines were very quiet. Don't know who uses them - do some homework
Just some free advise.
