Hello ,i have hyster order pickers at my customer r30xms2/d174n
That i want to connect an external alarm for functions(ie)
Lift lower drive.
Some of them have it some dont.
The ones that dont have an alarm ,when i access the spyglass
There isnt a parameter for alarm.im thinking it has to do with the software version (2.3 3.2).
Any info would be great.
Thank you.

hi pistolpeted,
well its not anything i did wrong per say, they have the forum encoded to catch certain words and tag the post for review. If they deem it a violation of forum TOS then they won't allow it. Otherwise it would eventually be approved and released and posted.

well i made a rather lengthy reply to this and had it up but i made an edit and the forum watchdog flagged it for review for some reason, probably some word i included in my post. Hopefully they will release it soon. :o/
firstly, there is no software upgrade to do on this truck, it is what it is. There is no handset to use to access the truck parameter settings for the controls etc, no pc software to access it, it is all done through the BDI display. (you can access the controllers to change drive parameters in the controller directly using the curtis handset but that is the limits to using external diagnostic equipment)
edit: a correction about the curtis handset, i think if you have the correct level programming rights in the curtis handset you may can access the 1310 master controller and change some settings but i believe this level handset you would need would be the OEM Dealer level or possibly the PC Programmer PC software and it also comes with the same level access rights. The higher the access level the higher the price, keep that in mind. Most handsets you can purchase at local dealers or vendors that sell these handsets is generally User or Service level access. The price of the dealer or OEM access rights level is rather expensive.
secondly, unless you know how to navigate the menu system it may be difficult to find this setting, it is in motion alarm settings (it may not describe this exactly worded this way, it may just say alarm with the numeric parameter beside it).
These are the following options it describes as to what mode you can set the alarm to:
Motion Alarm Type (Alarm xx): Alarm types are as follows:
0 = No Alarm
1 = Backup (BU)
2 = Forward (FWD)
3 = BU & FWD
4 = Lift
5 = BU & Lift
6 = FWD & Lift
7 = BU, FWD, & Lift
8 = Lower
9 = BU & Lower
10 = FWD & Lower
11 = BU, FWD, & Lower
12 = Lift & Lower
13 = BU, Lift, & Lower
14 = FWD, Lift, & Lower
15 = BU, FWD, Lift, & Lower
entering and navigating this system can be tricky if you've never done it before or haven't done it much, it is a lot easier if you have the service book in front of you with the descriptions of the menu layout. Even with that it's not like a well laid out diagram, unfortunately hyster (like Yale) were not too forthcoming about making things easy (probably done so purposely).
Without the service literature it will be a cumbersome process for you.
Note: whatever you do DO NOT change ANY OTHER PARAMETERS unless YOU KNOW for certain what it does! You could inadvertently disable a function or render the truck inoperable.
