Wiring:
Red - 12vdc switched
Black - Ground
White - 12vdc to ignition coil
Blue - starter signal wire (solenoid)

Disconnect the existing 12vdc to the ignition coil. Connect that wire to the red wire on the time delay. Connect the white wire to the ignition coil Positive (where you just removed the original wire). Splice the blue wire to the starter signal (solenoid) wire. Connect the black wire to Ground on the engine block.

We had an H60XM that would break the nose off the starter immediately; the time delay fixed the issue 100%

Hey curious to diagnosing if I need the time delay or not. I've unplugged the distributor and still have the same kickback issue. Truck is an older h60, no msts no factory time delay. It's a really hard clash between the starter and flywheel, only engages for a second before kickback, but will keep trying if you hold the key. New starter put in, no change.

Yes, I totally agree with the symptoms and am attempting to install the 1465935 to remedy a cure for the starter nose cone breakage, My problem is the Kit came in from TruP??.com and there are no instructions, "obviously TruP??.com is a parts marketing and resale outfit, because they don't have a clue what their doing "
..So, when I contacted them they allowed they didn't have that info. and advised me to look up the instructions on the internet, or consult my local fork lift sales/service/repair dealer.
That was this past Monday morning, its now Friday, I still have no wiring install info from the dealer for the 1465935
I would just really like to get this lift back together and outta my way, so any supporting relative info would be greatly appreciated.

The Above units fitted with the subject engines can sometimes experience starter kickback. It has
been found that this can be caused by electrical noise from the truck which signals the distributor to
fire prematurely. If this happens on the GM engine there is a possibility that the nose cone on the
starter can get broken. The nose cone on the Mazda starter is not affected but premature firing can
cause the engine to kickback and prevent starting.
A Delay Timer Kit 1465935 has been introduced which can be incorporated in the ignition circuit to
delay the distributor firing to the coil and ensures the flywheel is rotating before the electrical pulse
occurs. The kit consists of a delay timer, connectors, and installation instructions.
