When turning the Steering wheel it seems to tighten up, we suspect it may be the steer cylinder by-passing on the piston seal. Has anyone had this problem in their travels ???? Maybe the Steering Box ??????Any help would be appreciated

We found the Char-lyn steer box leaking and steering shaft universal and bearings worn. Replaced worn parts. Works good.

In all likelihood the steering gear is worn allowing the pressure to by pass. You can try removing the bottom cover from the steering gear and tightening the big nut one quarter turn.

does the "tightness" happen in relation to the position of the steering hand crank (wheel on the steering column) or in relation to the positions of the steering axle linkage (wheels on the ground) and does it change any if the steer avle wheels are up off the ground?
