Hi All,
I'm just servicing a Linde H50D it's a 2006 H2X394S
When I lift or drive as soon as the engine revs up to 1,365rmp
The warning sounder comes on and I get the red engine light on in top righthand corner.
Now the forklift will only lift or lower in slow motion with no drive.
In pathfinder under Traction and faults in memory I get 248.
This stats it has a Malfunction of the engine speed detection.
I can see the see the engine ticking over at 980rpm and when I lift it rises up to 1,365 then drops down and the alarm comes on.
As any body had this problem, could it be a faulty speed sensor?
Thanks for any help.
Paul.

Yes Your right I changed the starter motor from a local suppler it just cost £50 I put it side by side it looks the same.
So I fitted it last month and now it damaged the starter ring!!
It only caches the corners on the starter ring.
This is because it's mounted on a adapter plate which sits the starter out thither the the VW one.
Dam it...
Make sure you pull the sensor out before pulling the motor. Install new ring gear and when its back together install new sensor. I use a bussiness card to set gap between ringgear teeth and the sensor. Erase fault codes before starting engine.Sensor is held down with a bracket. Unscrew nut and pull out sensor The 2 nuts that are on the bottom side are your adjustment nut to set the gap. I leave them alone because when you put new sensor back in , the way the nuts aradjusted may be same setting for new sensor. Sensor may be tight getting old one out. Its plastic. if it breaks coming out, no big deal. you need to replace it any way. Also, replace the starter with a linde starter. Reman starters will eat up your ring gear. Had this happen on 2 different units. Reman starters cause problemns on Linde.
I see that the Starter Ring 3940321204 is a part that fits on the fly wheel. I will need to replace this as there are some teeth missing.
How is this attached to the fly wheel?
If it's pressed on will I need to remove the fly wheel before fitting this part?
Well yes the new speed sensor did fix one problem, but I still get T248 and alarm sounds, only the forks lift, tilt and lower no drive at 1000rpm.
The flywheel has 132 teeth for the starter motor how many fingers on the out side of the flywheel for the speed sensor?
If I raise the forks up very slowly then the engine will rev up to 2K
before I get the error code.
If I lift quickly the forklift drops in to emergency mode with T248 in display window. Slow lift and no drive?
Hi, Paul. Yes, it could be. Check the connection. Check all teeth on flywheel sprocket.
