Hi Brewski, thanks for sharing the info. I have contact the SICK authorize dealer in Singapore, they recommend me to use model S300 safety laser scanner. What I found thru the website was model S3000 could be better on both front and rear side while operating in the very narrow aisle.

Louis, There is a company named Sick that make a adjustable laser based sensor that is adaptable to lift trucks. My company installed some of these on Yale turret truck because of collisions. It has stopped the collisions completely. The laser fields are adjustable and can have both a slow down and stop field programmed.

Thank you Louis for explaining your need for an engineering control to avoid collisions.

From your statement, "...we have 2 truck collisions inside the same guided aisle due to operator negligence.", to what extent is an engineering control going to change operator's negligent behavior?

Operator's habitual negligence, if I understand the cause correctly, MAY be less if you influence it with an engineering control. So I'm curious to know the extent to which such hardware engineering is going to solve your collision problem...rooted in human-inspired negligence.

Please keep us informed.

Thanks again,

I would suggest to consider Cy.Pag Srl collision avoidance system.
It is an innovative active collision system based on ultrasonic sensor technology.

Zonesafe is perfect for indoor applications as well. Don't let the videos showing mainly outdoor applications make you think it's not suitable for indoor.

As a forklift tyre manufacturer, I would additionally recommend going for good quality Solid Rubber Tyres (like our 'Royal' Premium grade), to optimally balance the rolling resistance of tyres (neither high nor low). These days, due to falling tyre prices, there are more hard tread tyres. The braking control is lesser in these cheap tyres.

Further if you operate forklifts on synthetic floors, we recommend going for 'Anti-Static' or 'Static Dissipative' Solid Rubber Tyres (black / Non-mark).

Thank M Vandentop, we have a fleet size of 45 trucks in the warehouse environment. It seem that ZoneSafe is best suit for outdoor environment. Hope to get any similar features that suit in indoor environment.
