Discussion:
Well priced quality forklifts

Good day
What forklifts are worth distributing that are well priced and good quality? Parts availability is also important.

$1 can try Goome GPS vehicle tracker on amazon.

I believe going with used forklifts because they can be half the cost and almost as equally productive. Like with my site, used-forklift.net, we are able to give quality lifts, but a lot cheaper!
thanks,

@bbforks
It was finished in september 2009.
It was based upon prices and costs of 2008 and 2009.
The trucks considered were 1,5 to 5 tonners.
The ranges and specifications based upon actual market feedback. The symptoms of 2008 crisis were clearly visible.

I think it's at least partly (aftersales costs, residual value), still valid. Although the sensitivity of the project (financing costs risk, customers stability etc.) may be slightly different.
I think it's similarily actual concerning manufacturer attitude considered as one of Porter forces.

Once more I repeat - this was based upon polish market conditions in 2008-2009 and applied to IC (LPG) trucks

Karait- how many years ago did you do the analysis & do you think that with the ever changing forklift enviroment that your analysis would still stand true?

Good evening ;
Please consider our brand TECNA as possible competitor...100pct made in Europe ; no Asian componentry !
I am at yr disposal to further discuss by mail. We manufacture and design our 100pct electric products in Spain.
Tow tractors and forklifts...
Regards.
Than I would consider some european brands (Linde, Jungheinrich, Still).

Advantages:
- good quality, low defect factor,
- lower maintenance costs (the inspection every 1000 hours),
- high residual value (value after rental period),
- high standards of service support (well, I don't know the S.African reality, but according to my knowledge Linde dealership is doing pretty well there).

The hazards:
- high skills required from service technicians,
- difficult access to the diagnostic software.

Once, during my MBA studies I made an analysis of investment for IC forklift rental bussiness.
Comparing several brands (Linde, Still, Jungheinrich, Yale, Toyota, Doosan) I have got the best NPV and IRR values for Linde, than Still, Yale, Jungheinrich, Toyota, Doosan).

This was, of course, based upon european/polish conditions (taxes, labour costs, parts availability etc.

For the electric or warehouse trucks the order could be different, but I didn't analyse it.

Do you think about direct sales or rental bussiness?
