AGV's

Do forklift manufacturers produce any AGV's (Automated Guided Vehicles)? If so, who are these producers?

Are these AGV's electric or Internal combustion? Thanks.

In the latest MMH magazine (just read today) there is a nice summary on AGV's at page 31 if anyone is further interested. I was rather looking for large size AGV's (like those used for handling harbour containers such as Gottwald or Scheuerle). If anyone has more info on such large AGV makers, I would very much appreciate sharing te info.

I believe Komatsu also makes AGV's

The vast majority of new AGV systems are laser-guided as this is much more flexible in coping with changes in operations or plant layout. You can quickly change the vehicle routes (without having to dig up the floor!)

These can be controlled in many ways, but the most common is wire guidance.

Understand these are all electric. How are they controlled? laser, magnetic marks on the floor?

i have seen wagner(still) agv,s in the uk and also bt rolatruc.

To my knowledge Finnish manufacturer Rocla Oy does. I thought Jungheinrich did as well but it doesn't say so on their website. I did a google and saw that Jungheinrich UK makes AGVs. I was of the impression that all AGVs are electric vehicles.
