Discussion:
Over mast hoses Crown only?

Working on a TSP6000 turret truck in our plant that needs over the mast hoses. I'm being told they are special stretch hoses and can only be bought from Crown. Wondering if anybody has tried to use a hose made up from a local hose shop as a replacement?

I know its an old thread but in case anybody else still unsure, we have tried having hoses made locally and they dont hold up long. Hoses from crown fit better and last longer in our experience

Do not worry. Just remove the mast hose find the punctured location fit the couplings & reveres the hose and assemble it. It may extend its life further.

Thanks for the help guys. I ordered the Crown hoses though no one in the plant wanted to wait for them and have the truck down all week. Hard to believe it takes a week to make the hose assemblies for this truck.

Hydraulic hose is spec'ed by ID size.
Synflex hose (The hose Crown uses) has a smaller OD than a lot of other standard hoses most hydraulic shops stock. Most shops in my area use Aeroquip hose and aeroqip will not run through Crown hose sheaves, with it being too large of an OD.

You can buy synflex hose in bulk, all your fittings and swaging press kit... But at that point you have to figure is it cost effective!?!?!

It's all just nuts n' bolts.
You could have hoses made local but that would mean pulling them out to take and have made which means lots of extra work to install new ones because of having to fish them through and over rollers. Much better and easier to attach new hoses to old and pull them in as you pull out old.

Fact of the week
According to studies published in the English Journal of Medicine, the impact of daylight savings is revealed by a 24% increase in heart attacks on the Monday following the spring shift forward. When clocks move back in autumn, heart attacks drop by about 21%, suggesting that loss of sleep is an important driver.
