Our world always need a forklift....
Lift and traction are in the same controller so it is possible for the controller to be faulty.
D156 is a can bus error to the display.
Firstly I would be checking the resistance between the can Hi and Can low. Also check can wires for shorts to ground or pos.
Had many machine with a short to ground due to damaged insulation on the can bus wires.

Hi I have the code d156
engine will not start
I have had a chap in to do diagnostic and he cannot communicate with either traction or lift controller.
But we are getting a feed to the canbox from forklift.
I'm sure both controllers would not have died any ideas?
Cheers

Thanks heaps JayDee. I've been trying to get info on this truck all day. I've performed all the usual checks you've outlined above also. I was starting to look at the controller. But wanted a bit of confirmation before I went to the expense. I'm in Newcastle and no I'm not a Linde tech, I was a Crown tech for 6 years, I work for a small company these days. Thanks again.

Yes Gozza, all 3 leds where on when fault appeared, and both were H25t trucks both were 392's, one with 7800hrs and the other with 8800hrs. did the usual checks, plugs, harness, resistance, pin contact ,continuity etc, Had my local IC trainer evaluate fault and we ended up ordering replacement controllers from Germany. As soon as we powered up m/c code disappeared immediately and are still performing fault free. Thank goodness they are rental m/c's as I would hate to think what they would cost. Where in NSW are you ? Are you a Linde tech ?

Jay Dee did the trucks you replaced the controllers on have the 3 LED's for oil temp, engine temp and electric circuit problem illuminated? and does the same fault code apply to 392 series H25 trucks?

D156 error on display, disconnect battery for 30 secs then reconnect to reset or remove error code from display, truk should function after this, if it reappears, yu have a faulty controller. Remove controller and replace, have had to do 2 of these recently as requsted by Linde Trainer from Germany. Faulty batch of controllers.

The D156 error on 39x trucks applies to display problems.
it may be:
Connector 6x1 - defect
Connector X15 - defect
The whole display defect.

If the error occures, you should have the following LEDS on:
H1 (Oil temperature)
H4 (Electric circuit problem)
H5 (Engine tempertaure)
