Discussion:
Nissan APH0225V stalls engine on back tilt.

This truck stalls engine when fully tilted back. There is a relief valve on the tilt section of the control valve which is supposed to limit the pressure on back tilt to 1350 PSI so I'm told. The pressure is about 2700PSI and doesn't change at all with adjusting the relief. The pressure does change by adjusting the relief valve for forward tilt though.
We have swapped the tilt pressure relief valve from a know good truck that doesn't stall and it didn't change anything.
Any thoughts. I am in a pickle because I have to deliver the truck tomorrow morning.

The pressure for your lift valve and tilt valve are one in the same. Your main pressure relief for these two is usually right above the input for the hyd fluid. The other valves that have adjusters are for each function that needs to be reduced from the high pressure.

I just had one of my mechanics in the field with the same problem on the same Nissan I believe and I just had him adjust the timing to give it a little more power and to lean it a little. It worked for him, sometimes it is a worn engine without compression but most of the time it is cured by adjustment. 2300lb hyd pressure is fine and is not the problem. Check the pot as Mr Fixit stated if it has a kick otherwise clean and adjust the carb or time. Good Luck

I am with mrfixit as the forward tilt pressure is lower than back tilt. as mrfixit stated, check your dash pot!

What i used to do all day now takes me all day to do.
Is the dash pot on the carb working ok and kicking the throttle open when the motor is strained?
