Hi, I was reading your post, hopefuly you can help me out, I'm having problems with one of this units, and have no manual, I was able to get the information of code 28 a problem with the steer pot. I may need to run the learn program, can you tell me the complete steps to perform the alternate learn method. thank you for sharing the information it is very helpful.
i work on alot of 4700's and they are not bad at all. They are very susceptible to static. 9 times out of ten, it just needs a relearn. the other is adjusting the pot. But first, visually check the plastic articulating arm that is connected to the lift pot, that it is not cracked or broke. You can use a alternate method for relearning by pushing the speed mode and turtle mode switches.
the 4700 is the biggest pain in the butt for any raymond tech out there.
you can take the cover off the hyd. control levers. on the lift lever you'll see the pot and linkage. loosen the allen head screw the hold the the pot shaft. pull the lift handle back and use a small flat blade screw driver and adjust the pot until the code goes away and the lift lifts at full speed. tighten the allen screw and release the handle. thats the quick way to get around calling the dealer.
your going to need the dealer to come out with a laptop. this is a constant problem on these units blamed on static. they lose their learned values and the truck needs to be reset to default then all configurations reset and learns completed. with that said, is your static strap ok? your lift/lower pot may be bad as well. IMO truck is a pos. dual drive on a 4 wheel electric... great idea (I say that as sarcastically as possible)
Does anyone have a manual for this unit??
