alternates from p1 to p3

Working on a crown pe4500, when driving p1 and p3 alternate and truck shuts down, throws code 336, as of right now I dont have a service manual, any suggestions? Thanks

Event Code 336
Throttle Voltage Outside Limits
Throttle voltage from the
traction potentiometer is
greater than 4 Vdc when either the Forward (FS) or Re-
verse (RS) Switch is activate
d. Event is also logged if
potentiometer output is greater than 11 V. Corrective
action includes verifying the fault, centering the poten-
tiometer and or readjusting the directional switches.
