Hi,
I seem to have another one of these units handed off to me. G30P5 running on LP. GM Vortec motor. Compression is good. Engine starts every time, however right before it starts, it misfires through the carb. It starts right after the misfire. It will run and idle without issue, but if you rev it up, it breaks up. I am thinking about replacing the coil, but that is a guess at the moment. Any ideas?

yep you can check and clean out the mixer and also clean the chamber in the vaporizer as well, most vaporizers have a plug you can remove and if anything is in there you can drain it out.
one other thing that comes to mind is if this truck has a start timer on it like some other trucks i've seen with the vortec engine. The timer allows the engine to spin up and then turn on the ignition, it helps keep the starter from mis-enguaging and also helps the ignition during startup. The symptoms they usually give is either a 'no start' or you can get a 'misfire' during starting.
check and see if it has one of those modules on it.
Had a 50 pro5 awhile back that had similar issue. Does this unit have the Woodward fuel system? If so remove the supply hose from mixer and check for antifreeze/coolant in the supply hose. Some of these regulators have been known to spill coolant into fuel system.
