Clark ECG-30

Truck had no f/r, p/s or hydraulic functions & dash showed code -23 (f/r contactor coil issue). Followed flow chart in service manual & all checks showed OK. Replaced EV100 card with rebuilt one from flight systems. Now truck has all functions except f/r & shows code-72 (Regen contactor not picking up). Challenge is unit doesn't have regen contactor. Before I start chasing my tail- any suggestions? Thanks

@swoop223- I musat admit that I don't have much experience with these systems. I read the service manual, compared the new (reblt) card to the original & everything checked out at that end. I compared the part # from the dealer to the part # from SMH- they were the same.

It surprised me when I learned that no one would sell a card matching the components my unit had. All cards were sold fully packed & any options not on the unit had to be removed by an authorized dealer's handheld device.

The challenge I have is that it took the tech almost 8 hrs ( 2 trips @ 2hrs travel time each & 4 hrs actually programming ) to get the unit working. When I asked what took so long he advised me that the drive control main fuse was bad- which he replaced. The company where the unit is tests electrical components as their busines. They tested the "bad" fuse- pulling 500 amps thru it- proving the fuse wasn't bad. This type of service really gives dealerships a bad name. I think almost $1,000 to program a card is outrageous.

you do realize there are several different models of that ev100 card dont you?
when you order one it has to be the same as the one you sent in.
are the numbers the same?
GE made 3 or 4 different series of the ev100
the EV100, EV100LX,EV100ZX and each one of those has many different options available that are card/model number specific.
You cant just get any ole card and slap it in there.
I hope you wrote down the long number on the tag somewhere and compared it to the one you got back.
If it is not the same then the card they sent you back will more than likely not work correctly.

First off i would try and get ahold of a rapid tune up settings sheet from the clark manual, it should tell you all the settings and what values they should be. If once you have those set correctly and it still gives you those errors then they sent you the wrong card or the one they sent is faulty.

Update- found out all replacement cards (new or rebuilt) come with all available features. If the unit doesn't have all features the controller needs to be reprogrammed while on the unit- no one will sell a pre-programmed controller.

Fact of the week
The origin of "love" as the score zero in tennis is debated, but two main theories prevail. One suggests it's derived from the French word "l'oeuf" (egg) which resembles the shape of the number zero. The other proposes it's related to the Dutch word "lof" meaning "honour" as players might be playing for honour when scoreless.
