Discussion:
alarm on Crown SC4020-35

Anyone familiar with the Crown SC4020-35? The operator tells me that there isn't an audible alarm if he drives with the park brake engaged, and that there used to be. I've checked the microswitch on the park brake and it is working properly. If the operator leaves the machine with the park brake disengaged, the alarm will sound until he engages the park brake. So that tells me the circuit is ok.
Is he pulling my leg or should there be an alarm if he's driving with the park brake on?

SC4000 has a drive cutout (but no alarm) after 3 seconds if parking brake is not released (to allow hill starts on ramps)
alarm will sound if you get out of seat without applying parking brake

Well, one or the other would work. The guy said that there used to be an alarm but I haven't heard from anyone that there is. I know that a lot of the Cats would cut out the drive but I'm not too familiar with Crowns.

Don't know, but surly it would be better to cut drive out than sound an alarm?
