Hi, anyone out there can help please. This 48v truck with joysticks and electronic valve block, has a slow lower fault, checked everything plus all settings and parameters, lower speed does increase if other hyd function selected simultaneously, the lift speed also seems a bit slower than normal. any ideas greatly appreciated.

Gary, If you remove the logic cover (not the FC controller!) you will find a black square housing within which is the EEPROM.
If you post up the part number and version (N01 etc.) along with the serial number I'll let you know how you need to proceed, although I can only share limited information I'm afraid.

Gary, with the renewal of the pump was the logic software changed as well? It's a very simple EEPROM change on these units and with the change in pump material is required to ensure the pump lasts and the minimum rpm of 60 is provided for the cast iron pumps.
Duty cycle at low idle is not determined by any of the parameters and only via the software, so my money would still be on the pump.
Sorry, but I am not in a position to share service information, only a little of my knowledge, and can only ask you to contact your dealer.

Thanks for info Daniel, i do suspect you could be right but the pump was renewed on this truck only 6 months ago, ive also noticed that the hyd pump motor doesnt seem to increase to its maximim potential even though all the parameters are at maximum--any thoughts, and i dont suppose you have the service manual for this truck, i have lots of info for jungheinrich and linde trucks to share.

Gary, the symptoms you mention would indicate a hydraulic pump problem, probably worn out.

The solenoids use pilot pressure to move the valve and for all other functions the FC controller will issue the command via the logic to increase motor rpm as flow is required for the use of all functions...except lowering.

The pump motor stays at idle during lowering so a worn pump will not produce enough flow at the low idle speed to supply the pilot system correctly. Using another function increases the flow and so overcomes the problem, and at higher rpm there is probably sufficient flow to perform all of your operations with no obvious performance decrease.

On these units the pumps were changed from aluminium to cast iron and the duty cycle of the pump raised to increase complete lifetime of the pumps. I would suggest you contact your dealer Berge Manutencion for more information.
