Discussion:
Toyota 8FGCU25 slow lowering and reset service indicator

1. I have a customer with a 8FGCU25 with a 188" FSV mast. The lift cylinder lowers very slowly from maximum fork height and free lift. Any ideas?

2. How do you reset the maintenance indicator light?

Thanks Toyzilla. It turned out to be a broken spring in the flow regulator valve. The technician didn't dig far enough into the valve originally. Thanks.

Is there safety down valve or piston and spring in the bottom of the lift cylinders? I had a 7F model with the piston/spring bad causing that problem.

We removed the control valve and the spring is fine in the flow regulator valve. We also checked the spring in the lift plunger and that was fine too.
We got a troubleshooting chart and are going through that but any other assistance would be appreciated.

the spring in the flow regulator valve is broken. the valve has to be removed to replace it unless you have five very small hands and can stand on your head for long periods of time. it's under the solenoid valve that is in line with the lift spool on the bottom side of the valve.
can give you more info if you need it.
