Clark C20SCL C152L throttle plate failure

Anyone have problems with the Bosch electric throttle/governor breaking the plastic gears and failing? Kind of an expensive part to be having to replace. Is a backfire through the intake system doing this? I did the coil mount mod that the service bulletin mentioned to prevent misfires.

I was told by the local dealer it has to do with the version of software in the truck. Depending on the version in the truck, if you put a new throttle controllet on you will have the same failure down the road if you don't update. What were the codes?
