Discussion:
Code 8A

Just purchased a Raymond EASiR40TT. Prior to it being shipped to us it was not showing any codes. When we received it however it is showing Code 8A. It is something tied in to a Home Depot option called OCSS - Operation Compartment Safety Switches. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot and clear this code?

Showing items 1 - 4 of 4 results.
I do have the superword and it's not in the configure menu. Guess we'll have to get the dealer to look at it. Thank you though for your help!

Most things can be changed in the Configure menu (such as speed, plugging, BSOC, etc.,) but things that are safety related such as height limiting, side gate switches, entry sensors and such are usually protected by a passkey. The passkey that raymond will issue the dealer tech will have all of this information in a code string, deleting the entry sensor option and this will have to be downloaded to the truck via laptop. If it is indeed in the configure menu you'll more than likely have to have a dealer tech come out anyway unless whoever you purchased it from defaulted the password/superwords back to 1 and 2 (which I doubt).

Ain't nothing I can't fix but a broken heart and the break of day!
Thank you. Is there no other way to disable the option without a dealer doing it?

Those sensors are at the rear of the truck at the bottom of the operator compartment. Sometimes they just get dirty. Check the cables going to them from the vehicle manager as they might have gotten pinched during shipping. You can contact your local Raymond dealer and they can disable the option but if I remember right they'll have to file an S207 with Raymond which will cost you about $200.

Fact of the week
The word "okay" (or its abbreviation "OK") originated as a humorous misspelling. In the 1830s, a fad in Boston involved using abbreviations of intentionally misspelled phrases. "OK" stood for "oll korrect," a playful mispronunciation of "all correct".
