Chris has a good point:
There is no free lunch, someone always pays.
even in Govco programs, we all pay for it, it is just spread out over more people for a longer time, but it still has to be paid for.

Yes, they do the program, but my point is that your really not getting a tax break, or an incentive..... They just sell the new truck at a higher price and tell you that your trade in is higher.... Its not like the government is paying someone or giving additional cash for the deal.... If you buy the truck for $15,000 and get $5000 on the trade in... The odds are the truck was only worth $10,000 to begin with...

Raymond does have a national program similar to cash for clunkers. It is called LIFT and can be found on the Raymond website(see link below). It was also written up in Modern Material Handling magazine. http://www.raymondcorp.com/

I haven't heard of any nationally sponsored programs like the cash for clunkers, but I have heard of car donation charities also accepting other machines, including forklifts. These organizations can provide you with a form to receive a tax reduction. There are many different non profit organizations that have these types of programs, so you can find a cause that you care about to use.

texas has some programs that are guised in reduced emission and or resource conservation that depending on the expected hours of use can get you 2 for the price of one. of course all texans get to pay for this program so we call it cash for clunkers.

thats just an independent company running a gimmick to get you in the door..... There is no national program... Pretty much they will just tell you its a $10,000 forklift you are buying, even though its on their books for $3000... They will then tell you if you pay 10k, they will give you 3k for your truck... therefore selling a 3,000 truck for 7k and making a sweet profit..
