Discussion:
motor overheating

I had a motor smoking pretty good so I removed both motors and had them rebuild. I installed motors and it overheated again. No codes coming up. Sparks going around the armature.

Not sure if this is related but I have not been able to keep the truck under 5 kph its set to 5 kph but it always exceeds it.
I thought maybe the brake was dragging but It wasn't. any Ideas what may cause this.

This motor is getting smoking hot. The brakes are not grabbing, I also don't believe the transfer case is resisting? I'm thinking of switching motors around and seeing if the problem follows the motor. Then I'll know for sure.. MAYBE Hehehe Forklifts will be the death of me.

sparks going around commutator usually indicates possible shorted armature. if the commutators were turned and the rebuilder did not undercut the mica properly or the copper was drug to the next segments, a short could created
