Discussion:
ignition problem

I have a Daewoo G25E-3 that has power going to the coil but nothing coming out of the coil to the distrubtor. i have hooked a laptop to it and no codes are stored. i ran the ignition test and no problems were found. I have replaced the coil wire. Still nothing. This is a dual fuel truck that in running on gasoline. It seems like the ecu is not providing a ground to the coil for some reason. But when i had the laptop hooked to it everthing was reading except the oil pressure. I call someone and they told me that the ecu would still provide a ground at first start up. Any ideas would be greatly appericated.

If there's power going into the coil and there's a new wire from coil to distributor then you may have a bad coil or the new coil wire you are using is no good. Try replacing them both.

Problem was simple. The conector inside of the plug that plugs into the coil was a loose fit. After removing the supply voltage wire from the plug i crimped it closed some and truck cranked up.

I have checked voltage to the coil, to the O2 sensor, and checked grounds to the coil, oil pressure sending unit, O2 sensor, and the ECU. The fuel selector switch is good. Everything leads back to the ECU not sending to the coil to fire. If i am missing something let me know.. Thanks

I have changed with a new one. Still no fire coming out of new coil. The tech before me replaced plugs and wires. Thanks for the reply.

Hello Jimmy,
If you have voltage to the coil and nothing going to the distributor, I would suspect the coil.
Try a new coil. You might be getting way ahead of yourself with the ECU and laptop diagnostic.
Check the simple things first.
