Discussion:
Engine won't turn over

Have been having issues for a while. The forklift drained the battery when turned on. Id have to hook up and start the lift with a jump start. Now the engine wont turn over. It cranks when the battery is fully charged and drains the battery 30-50% but won't start.

Scott,

I doubt you have a load tester. Install a known good battery and try to start. If the starter still drags or will not engage, tap it with a hammer. Do not beat the **** out of it. If it tries to start, you need a new starter. Still not making any sounds, need to verify all cable connections starting with the battery. Make sure you remove the negative cable from the frame mount and clean. Have seen a lot of mistakes made due to bad connections on the ground side. Good Luck.

The hard to do we do right away. The impossible just takes a little longer.
I would first make sure your battery will hold a load and does not have a bad cell next check your starter draw when cranking it is possible that the starter is drawing to much causing the engine to crank slow also check if you can get it started your charging system make sure it is getting approx 14 volts when running.
