Discussion:
Won’t move forward or back with mast in second stage

I have an older Yale reach truck that stops moving forward or back with the mast up past 2nd stage. It moves find with mast in first stage. It will move forward and back a few times with the mast up but very slowly until it won't move at all, if I. Go back down with the mast and move back and forward it seems to reset and I'll be able to move again with the mast up but only a few times and then it stops moving again.
I had barclay come in and look at it and they weren't very helpful. They said it's a step down sensor for safety that is cutting the power to be able to move. However they said they can't find the part and won't give me a part number or name of the sensor. I've looked all around the lift and found a few clips up in the mast but don't see any sensor.
Hope someone has some ideas on here.

Brian,

Unless this was added by someone, it is not on the lift. Suspect your battery may be getting weak. Verify battery fluid level is good. Each cell should be filled to the top of the inner cell. Do not fill to the top of the fill hole. This will cause fluid to come out when charging. If the battery is 24 volt, it should read 26.5 to 27.5 when fully charged. Only charge a battery when it is discharged 80 percent. Charging sooner and more often will cause the battery to short charge and last for a short time. Newer batteries and chargers are different. Good Luck

The hard to do we do right away. The impossible just takes a little longer.
